Our annual Ōtamarākau School Fishing Competition is a much loved community event that brings together tamariki, whānau, and friends for a day of fun, connection, and friendly competition. It is a celebration of our community spirit, coastal environment and the strong relationships that make our kura so special.
With multiple prize categories, raffles, giveaways, and activities throughout the event, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
Major prizes include a grand prize of $4,000 for the heaviest snapper and $2,000 for the heaviest kahawai, creating an exciting atmosphere for all competitors taking part.
Ōtamarākau School looks forward to welcoming familiar faces and new ones each year as our community comes together for another great day on the moana.
