Otamarakau School is a special place with caring, friendly people. There is a high expectation for both, learning and behaviour. Engaging and relevant programmes are taught. Each classroom is filled with involved, happy children enjoying being part of our learning community.

The whole school community supports the Otamarakau School's hared vision, culture and values, including educational initiatives such as integrating information communication technology throughout the school. Our senior classroom is fully digital with each student having access to their own laptop. The two junior classrooms share a large pod of laptops between them. One recent visitor commented "these children don't realise how lucky they are and all children should be able to attend a school like this!"

A talented team of teaching and support staff work to create the best teaching and learning environment for children. We are committed to develop a strong partnership between home and school, and believe this to be vital in ensuring that learning is successful, and each child has the opportunity to reach their potential. "It takes a whole village to educate a single child."

At Otamarakau School we are entrusted and challenged with preparing our children for the future. We endeavour to treat all our students as individuals and strive to nurture creativity, foster resilience, develop independence and provide the building blocks for a well-rounded, productive, healthy and happy life.

Finally, while we respect the potential of who our children can become tomorrow, we don't lose sight that they are already someone today!
