Parent/Teacher Association
The school is fortunate in having a very active Parent-Teacher-Association (PTA).
The PTA was formed in 1954 and plays an important role in the school community organising a wide range of social and fund-raising activities for the benefit of our children, parents and friends. The Association usually meets 5-6 times annually and has raised money to provide, amongst other things, educational resources, a library and a large play apparatus in the playground. Members have also organised work parties for redecorating large areas of the school.
Meetings also provide a forum for parents to offer suggestions, make constructive criticisms and help decide how our money is spent. We think Otamarakau School is an exciting place to be and we welcome new parents and families to join us and share in what we are trying to achieve for all our children.
