Learning
Learning is everywhere. We learn as much from informal everyday situations as from formal learning at school. Young people learn while at school, during extra-curricular activities and within out-of-school environments such as caring for family or whānau or playing sport.
Encouraging your child to keep on learning can really help them succeed in their chosen path. Keep the following tips in mind and remind your child that:

everyone's learning style and ability is different

it's okay to learn from mistakes

it's not just about learning, but being able to describe what they've learnt
Encourage your child to think outside the square. If your child says they don't like learning, ask them this question: "What's one thing you've learnt in the past week, month, year?" Encourage them to see that learning happens all the time – it could be learning to change a tyre, how to vote, or knowing the price of groceries!
